ABRACADABRA is the only collection by Janja Prokić which is not characterized by organic shapes. By contrast, it features sharp edges. “They symbolise the fact that one may balance on the edge but not for too long. Sooner or later, one will fall. I think that’s why it’s important for all of us to know where we want to belong,” says Janja, explaining the meaning of the sharp contours. “The edge refracts light in shadow and thus brings the symbolism of white magic to every object. We can decide if we want to side with good or evil in this world,” she adds.

Moreover, the jewellery designer has come up with product design for the first time. “I believe that objects have real functions and should be used.” The main motif of the ABRACADABRA collection is the Ouroboros, a snake that eats its own tail, an ancient Greek symbol of the neverending return from the end to the beginning, the necessity of the death of one, so that the other can arrive. The number six is crucial for the collection. Six different compositions of objects were created.

The whole collection is made of gold, the only metal which can absorb negative energy and thus cleanse the whole body of negative loads, stress and illnesses. White coral acts synchronically upon black magic. Ebony wood represents the male principle in the set of objects and therefore balances the female-centred concept of the collection.
